Hi, I’m Ara — and my mom and I make everything you see here.

I’m based in Texas, a small town with big skies and even bigger creative energy. I’ve been knitting and crocheting since I was 10 years old and what started as a way to create something beautiful with my own hands has grown into HandMadends — a shop built on the idea that handmade always wins.

I don’t have a warehouse. I don’t have a team of machines. It’s just myself and my mom. What I have is a deep love for the craft, a commitment to quality, and the genuine belief that the person receiving one of my pieces deserves something made with intention.

Every item in this shop — from the “Head Hugs” headbands to the cozy blankets to the little jewelry pieces — passes through our hands. We choose the materials. We work the stitches. I pack the orders. That personal touch isn’t a marketing line. It’s just how we do things.
